Hello, I am planning to build a shield. I have experience with Dagorhir full contact shields, and SCA shields. For LARP Adventures I was thinking a 26" center grip round shield with 1/4" ply core, steel boss, foam edging, with canvas or linen glued on and painted. Would that work in this game since there is not shield on body contact allowed?

Shield Design Parameters
There are several good ways to construct shields for LARP Adventures.
Use DAP Weldwood or similar adhesive.
Shields and bucklers
should be of an all foam construction, small and medium shields probably do not need cores, but larger shields may need to be cored for stiffness.
Shields should be constructed to a minimum thickness of 1" and should not be thicker than 3" at any point. You can use plank foam or 4#-6# EVA.
Cores can be of corrugated plastic in two layers with opposing corrugation for strength, or plywood of no more than 1/2" thickness.
For straps, add a second layer of foam to the back insert bolts using large plastic washers so they don't easily pull through. You can use leather cloth for straps, fore grip may be a metal handle. Punch grip shields may use PVC or wood for center grips.
Plank foam shields will need an EVA craft foam skin, and all shields should be plastidipped or receive some other exterior protective coating.
Shields can then be painted using acrylic, or latex based paint. Cloth covered shields are also permitted.
