That Which Lies Below: Secrets of Hollow Osterra
As the year turns once more and the fires of the surface fade to embers, we descend into the mysteries of Hollow Osterra—the vast and ancient world that slumbers beneath our feet.
This year, instead of looking to the stars, we look downward, into the glowing caverns and crystal vaults that hold the forgotten magic of ages past. Whether guided by the dim phosphorescence of the deep or by the whispers of deities who dwell below the roots of the world, we come together once more to celebrate what we’ve built above and what we dare to uncover below.
 

This Year’s Theme:
“That Which Lies Below — Under the Underdark.”
Drawing inspiration from the secret grottos of the Risa Fae, and Crystal Elementals, the lost cities of Drow, Goblins and Dwarves, and the lore of Osterra’s own forgotten underrealms, the Winter Council invites all adventurers, scholars, and seekers to gather at The Lodges at Gettysburg—less than two hours from DC and an easy journey for those of the DMV&P realms—to explore the wonders and dangers of Hollow Osterra.
Here we will celebrate the long winter’s night, share tales of discovery, and revel in the eerie glow of the underworld’s lantern-light. Join our fellowship of dreamers, costumers, and storytellers as we bring to life the creatures and mysteries that dwell below the surface—those who thrive in shadow, feed on magic, and guard secrets best left undisturbed.
This annual gathering marks the continuation of an eight-year tradition: The Winter Council—a time for reflection, recognition, and renewal. This year, we invite you to journey deeper, to uncover the roots beneath the realm and glimpse the living heart of the world that beats beneath Osterra’s crust.
Costumes are, as ever, an essential part of the experience:
Adventurers are encouraged to embody the subterranean—deep dwarves, cave fae, goblins, mushroom folk, miners, mages, or any denizen of the deep. Glittering crystals, eerie glows, bioluminescent dyes, and underdark attire are encouraged.
