Quick and Easy tent for LARP. Kids and I put this together with: 1 canvas drop cloth adding 6 grommets ($15 to $20) 2 polls with a screw at one end of each to hook the tent ($5 to $10) 6 tent stakes.and some string. ($5 to $10) For ease and survivabilty, I bought the poles and stakes. I will probably add to it with more canvas for doors and sides....

Has anyone drafted up a map of Osterra or Nova Regnus? What about a timeline?

It has been a long summer. My crops have wilted and it will be a poor harvest. The heat and moisture have brought more than insects, rot, and subsequent belt tightening. While my little ones were at play in the gardens, a group of gnolls fell upon them. Praise Tharros that my eldest son Rilos and eldest daughter Darcy were nearby and responded quickly. Rilos quickly dispatched one of the gnolls with a quick thrust to its chest and turned to occupy two others whilst Darcy placed a ward on the little ones and illuminated the warning lights with a spell. Notified by the warning lights, I was able to run to the fray with sword in hand and two of my guards. The fight then ended quickly. Before that day, my scouts had not reported any signs of gnolls in the area. They must have come through an uncharted portal. The Portal Guard must move quicker! Why does it seem they are dragging their feet? I almost lost three of my children to the maws of gnolls! Pride. Rilos has grown into a young man with courage and character. His swordplay is almost par with my own, but he still must grow more in wisdom. He has great interest in the arcane and wishes to combine it with his martial strengths. Darcy too has grown, but so has her dark disposition. She has natural talents, it appears, in the arcane and shows interest in the sword. Alas, although she has interest, her sword skills do not come as naturally as they do for Rilos. Perhaps with more training. She too, like Rilos, is lacking in the wisdom needed for the coming days. If we only had more time! I am glad that I have entrusted them to the tutelage of Kurios Xoticus. Xoticus is very adept, wise, and knows the arcane arts well. They will learn much skill, and perhaps wisdom, from Xoticus. We are eager to be in the company of the Tharrosian Kurios again…

It has been eight harvests since I “brought” my family to this land now called Osterra. We were sailing to visit relatives when a storm beset us. Out ship was run aground and after the storm cleared, we exited the berthing area to find the captain and crew missing. But, most unbelievable and frightening, was no ocean or sea was to be seen. Our ship, or what was left of it, was in the middle of a meadow! The years since have brought struggles as my family toiled the fields while fending off roaming beasts such as orcs. Since it is a wild place, I styled myself an to Earl to temper and tame the area of Osterra I called Catalpa. This planting season, we are heartened to hear of this new Lord Osric, who has plans to unite those of us “settlers” to part of a larger and stronger kingdom called Nova Regnus. Perhaps we will be safer united under his rule. I am bringing my two eldest children to the Rites of Spring Tournament to introduce myself with hopes of joining Lord Osric’s forces and helping my children find their own paths through apprenticeships...
